While enjoying my day off, I’d like to visit different kinds of artistic exhibitions, especially exhibitions in fashion and design. Last week I was visiting the Temporary Fashion Museum in Rotterdam, which is an experiment from ‘Het Nieuwe Instituut’ in Rotterdam. The main reason for this experiment is quit reasonable and very interesting. Many Dutch museums include fashion within their collections, but there has never been a national fashion museum(!!!!????? Why not !!!!???). Over a period of eight months, Het Nieuwe Institute explored the possibilities of such an institution by transforming itself into a fashion museum (YES!! YES!! YES!!). The entire building was ALL OVER FASHION!
From branding to recycling, fashion from Willem de Kooning academy students, perfume exhibitions and vintage design collections. Follow my journey through the Temporary Fashion Museum, Rotterdam 2016.
